FORT SMITH – The National Park Service is planning to recover next month the boat that recently crashed in Bighorn Lake in an accident that killed three people.

Boaters should remain at least 150 feet away from the site, which is marked by hazardous materials booms and marking buoys, so fluids leaked from the boat can be properly captured, park service officials said in a Wednesday news release.

Authorities will release details of the accident pending their investigation.

The boat crashed at daybreak on August 11 with four people aboard. One woman, Tammy Scoville of Billings, was found dead at the site. Another man, Robert Ludwich, was found alive at shore and taken to a Billings hospital.

The bodies of two other men, Nathan Kelley and Christian Scoville, were found after an extensive search of the water.
