DCI will investigate after man shoots himself in Great Falls

GREAT FALLS – The Cascade County Sheriff’s Office provided the following information in a press release on Friday afternoon:

On August 24, 2018 at approx. 1:00 PM, Cascade County Sheriff’s Office deputies were searching for and contacted a 46-year old man at a residence on Country Lane off of Bootlegger Trails just north of Great Falls.

The Deputies wanted to talk to the man about a harassment complaint reported at another location.

Upon contact with deputies the man produced a firearm and shot himself. He was taken to Benefis Hospital; his medical condition is unknown at this time.

Based on the Deputies contact with the male, the Montana Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has been asked to assist and investigate this incident.

No other details have been released at this point; we will update you if we get more information.
