ANACONDA – The AWARE office’s Center of Excellence in Anaconda has been officially renamed for a longtime employee.
Friday morning officials at AWARE unveiled the sign for the Lawrence p. Noonan Center for Excellence.
Noonan is the current CEO for aware and has been with the organization for 30 years.
AWARE helps people with developmental disabilities through education and helps them live independent lives.
Noonan says working for this organization has been rewarding.
“We got to get people out of the institutions and into the community and once you saw how excited the people were once they got into the community and they got involved in the all the stuff in the community you realize that this is something you wanted to do forever,” Noonan said.
The Center for Excellence was opened in Anaconda in 2014.
