BILLINGS – The Billings Police Department said Monday that Sonny Reese, 29, has been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery of an 81-year-old female on Billings West earlier this month.

On Sept. 17, a man confronted an 81-year-old woman after she pulled into her own garage. The suspect demanded her wallet and money, and said he followed her home from a nearby ATM.

He then said he would kill her if she didn’t hand over the cash, according to police.

According to a press release from the Billings Police Department, detectives from the street crimes unit located surveillance cameras and, after reviewing the footage, recognized Reese from prior police contacts.

On Sunday, Reese was found on the south side of Billings and arrested without incident.

Reese was booked into Yellowstone County Jail on robbery charges.
