HELENA – The Helena Police Department is asking for your help, after a string of vandalism downtown.

According to Assistant Chief Steve Hagen, early last week on September 25th and 26th, someone spray painted the word “cans” in three locations downtown.

Since then, someone has also spray painted the phrase “I ‘heart’ CF” about a dozen times in multiple locations, including on the Power Block, the Guardian Apartments and the Man Store.

Assistant Chief Hagen says they’re not yet sure if the graffiti is related, but they are combing through surveillance video to hopefully get a closer look at the subject.

“Someone has a total disrespect for someone else’s property, that’s what it comes down to,” he said. “You know, would you want somebody spray painting your property? If they looked at it that way, they probably wouldn’t do it.”

If you have information, you’re asked to contact Officer McLean Patterson at 442-3233 or by email at mcpeterson@helenmt.gov.

You can also leave a tip with Crimestoppers at 443-2000 or online at http://www.helenacrimestoppers.com.
