BOZEMAN – The city of Bozeman celebrated National 10 Minute Walk to a Park Day Wednesday.
It’s a campaign that was launched a year ago by the Trust for Public Land, The National Recreation Parks Association and the Urban Land Institute.
More than 200 cities have signed on to this campaign and Bozeman was one of the first cities to do so. It’s a commitment that everyone in the city lives within a 10-minute walk or a half-mile radius of a quality park.
“Really parks are the great equalizer, anyone no matter of their socioeconomic status can enjoy a great park and they should be able to,” Director of Bozeman Parks and Recreation Mitch Overton said. “No matter where they live in the city they should be able to access a good park.”
Bozeman plans to continue to continue to celebrate this day in the coming years.
