GREAT FALLS – The Cascade County Elections Office is preparing for election day with a move to the Montana ExpoPark.

People who still need to register to vote and absentee voters who need a ballot reissued must now go to the Expo Hall at the ExpoPark.

They are open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon next Monday.

On election day, the Expo Hall will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Cascade County Clerk and Recorder Rina Moore said more than 33,000 voters have already received their ballots and 47 percent had been returned by last Friday.

“Eighty-one percent of our voters have a ballot they have received through the mail right now so that’s a record for us,” she said. “We’ve been sitting at 75 percent for several years now and this is really pushed it beyond that so we’re pretty happy about that.”

The main Elections Office is now closed, but ballots can still be returned at the 24-hour dropbox.
