Thomas Boyer has been elected as the new Valley County Sheriff.
Write-in candidate Boyer defeated Joe Horn; the final tally was Boyer with 2,242 votes and Horn with 1,459 votes.
The Glasgow Courier wrote: “Boyer has only been a deputy for two years but brought experience in business, nursing and management to the table that resonated with voters. He also lead a strong campaign going door to door and meeting voters face to face often. Boyer’s uphill challenge of educating voters on his policies and how to spell his name must have worked in the county.”
Luke Strommen withdrew from the race in August due to an investigation into misconduct.
Strommen was charged and pleaded not guilty to with felony sexual abuse of a child last month.
