BOZEMAN – Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport – BZN is expecting a record number of passengers this weekend.

The TSA is expecting around 9,500 passengers departing Bozeman the Friday and the weekend before Christmas. Officials say 3,500 per day are expected to leave BZN in the Wednesday and Thursday following Christmas. On average, only 1,600 passengers fly out of Bozeman each day. Airport officials are expecting the parking lot to overflow but have a plan in place to accommodate these extra passengers.

“We’ve got an overflow lot that we have prepped and have signed for that weekend but what we’re asking is that passengers is that if they’re leaving the Friday Saturday or Sunday before the Christmas Holiday, just leave a few more minutes before to find the parking space we’ll have everything signed and what not, it may not be in the paid parking lot but have a lot signed and ready for you,” Deputy Airport director Scott Humphrey said.

The TSA expects the busiest time to get through security will be between 4:30 a.m. and between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
