BOZEMAN – Town Pump is offering homes for sale in Bozeman and Belgrade for $1 — with only one catch.
Town Pump has acquired multiple properties, such as one located at 8401 Huffine Lane in Bozeman, and instead of tearing down the homes located on the properties, they can be purchased for one dollar, as long as the buyer pays for the home to be moved to a separate piece of land.
“We wanted to just clear the property, and we felt like this house had value to be recycled rather than ending up in the landfill,” said Town Pump Communications Director Bill McGladdery.
This isn’t the only property for sale by Town Pump for $1. Two are located on Jackrabbit in Belgrade, and pending approval, there will be three in Butte.
The land in Butte will be used to expand Town Pump’s current facility, but McGladdery said the company has not decided how it plans to develop the land on Huffine.
DLM Contracting Inc said depending on where the home is moved and if power lines have to be raised, it could cost anywhere from $50,000 to $80,000.
