How to eat heart smart with St. Peter’s Health

HELENA – February is American Heart Month which is part of an effort to raise awareness about heart health and battle cardiovascular disease.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, half of all Americans have at least one of the top three risk factors for heart disease. That includes high blood pressure, high cholesterol and smoking. Other risk factors include obesity, diabetes, physical inactivity and unhealthy eating.

Jennifer Colegrove, registered dietitian with St. Peter’s Health stopped by Daybreak on Wednesday to give advice on the best types foods for heart health.
