HELENA – A 47 year-old Helena man is facing three felony charges.
Police say he was in possession of hundreds of images of child pornography.
Michael Hutzel appeared via video in Lewis and Clark Justice Court Wednesday.
Court documents say investigators were tipped off to the images by an acquaintance.
That person said they saw the suspect pictures on Hutzel’s computer.
In July of last year police obtained a search warrant, and seized two laptops and other electronics.
Police say a forensic analysis of the devices uncovered more than 1,400 images depicting child pornography
Hutzel has been charged with three counts of sexual abuse of children.
His bond was set at $50,000.
