Street closures planned for Jason Baker memorial service

GREAT FALLS- Several streets will be closed throughout the Electric City Tuesday as the community comes together to remember a Great Falls firefighter.

The Memorial Service for Jason Baker will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 2 p.m.

Jason Baker passed away last Wednesday after a two-year long battle with cancer.

The service will be held in the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts, which is inside the Great Falls Civic Center.

Starting at 9:30 a.m., Park Drive South from 1st Avenue North to 1st Avenue South and Central Avenue from Park Drive South to 2nd Street will be closed until 5 p.m. for a staging area. All attending with fire service or law enforcement apparatus are to arrive at the designated staging area starting at 11 a.m.

The theater will open to the public at 1:20 p.m.

A reception will follow the Jason Baker Memorial Service in the Missouri Room located on the third floor of the Civic Center.

There will be two processions with the first one starting around 12:45 p.m. at Croxford Funeral Home. It will go down 14th Street and 1st Avenue South and then turn onto 1st Avenue South. They will proceed to 9th Street South and turn onto Central Avenue making their way down to the Civic Center.

The second procession will take place at 5 p.m. They will leave the Civic Center and go down Central Avenue to 9th Street South. The procession will turn on 9th Street and proceed to 10th Avenue South. They will turn onto 10th Avenue South and proceed to the final destination at the Hi-Ho Tavern.

Family, friends, and firefighters will then hold a private Celebration of Life for Baker.
