Bike Walk Montana aims to revitalize local involvement

HELENA – Bike Walk Montana is hosting a meeting Wednesday to talk about the future of the group in Helena.

Executive Director Doug Habermann says they are looking to increase involvement on the local level.

Habermann says Bike Walk Montana has about 600 members statewide, 90 of which are in Helena.

He says it’s important to have locals – who know the area best – involved with the organization and its mission.

“Local people know the issues.  They know – this intersection needs a better crosswalk, or that sort of thing,” says Habermann.  “And they can best work locally with their local government.  The group itself will help to set its goals and decide exactly how it’s going to get there.”

All are invited to attend the meeting – which is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bike Walk Montana headquarters at 910 East Lyndale.

You can park in the back in the north or northwest lots and enter through the back, as well.
