Get Fit Great Falls cancels Winter Trails Day 2019

GREAT FALLS – Winter Trails Day 2019 has been canceled after some setbacks this year.

Get Fit Great Falls announced on their Facebook page Wednesday the event was canceled due to harsh winter conditions.

The March 2nd event was to feature a beginner’s XC Ski Tour along with one, two and three-mile hikes.

In a statement, organizers stated they felt the extreme cold was not compatible with providing participants an enjoyable and safe snowshoeing or cross country skiing experience.

The first Winter Trails Day 2019 was scheduled for February 2, but had to be postponed because of the government shutdown.

Due to forecast temperatures remaining below zero this coming Saturday, Get Fit Great Falls has reluctantly decided to cancel their March 2 Winter Trails Day Event. This event is largely geared towards families with children and beginners.The extreme cold is really not compatible with providing participants with an enjoyable and safe snowshoeing or cross country skiing experience.
