BOZEMAN- The roof collapsed on a second Montana State Unversity gym on Saturday.
The roof was on the North Gym of the Marga Hosaeus Fitness Center. It is the same complex where the South Gym was located. The South Gym’s roof collapsed Thursday morning.
On Friday nearly two dozen structural engineers were on campus evaluating 30 flat roof building following the first collapse.
A team had also been working on the roof of the North Gym of the fitness center, adjacent and connected to the collapsed roof in the South Gym.
Officials said the North Gym was built at the same time as the South Gym, using the same methods and type of materials.
An assessment of its structure indicated that the North Gym’s roof was likely to fail as well.
There were no injuries in either collapse. The building has been closed off after Thursday for safety.
