HELENA – The City of Helena is taking steps to provide a more eclectic community, with the new 2019 growth policy.

A meeting held this afternoon at the Storefront Studio at Last Chance Gulch discussed major topics like affordable housing, economics, public facilities and business expansion.

This policy will map out the next 20 years for expansion of Helena.

It’s an additional build on the past success of the 2011 Growth Policy. The City hopes with this road map into the coming years will better help residents, business owners, and investors to adapt and navigate through the development process.

Krys Holmes, Executive Director of Myrna Loy stated, “What we want our social lives to be like;, much of our lives are so determined and shaped by the spaces that we live in, that it’s really great to be in on this on the bottom floor of this conversation while they’re figuring out how do we want that physical growth to go.”

The next meeting is open to the public and the city would like all patrons of Helena to share their ideas about the growth expansion project.
