BOZEMAN — Mallard’s Rest and York’s Island fishing access sites are now open to public visitors after they were temporarily closed due to flooding conditions.

Mallard’s Rest FAS is on the Yellowstone River, about 12 miles south of Livingston along U.S. Highway 89. York’s Island FAS is on the Missouri River, about 4 miles south of Townsend along U.S. Highway 287.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will be monitoring water levels as the spring runoff continues. Additional closures at these and other fishing access sites may be necessary if flooding conditions return in the coming months.
