Great Falls man sentenced for possession of child porn

GREAT FALLS – A Great Falls man changed his plea and was sentenced for possessing child pornography.

Brandon Bennett pleaded guilty Friday to one count of receipt of child pornography in federal court.

After the court accepted his plea agreement, the judge sentenced Bennett to 14 years in federal prison.

According to court documents, in August of 2016, a phone belonging to Bennett was turned into the Great Falls Police Department.

After receiving a search warrant, officers found the phone contained image and video files depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Court documents state officers also found web history showing the user searched for images of child pornography.

Once released from prison, Bennett will be on supervised release for 10 years. He has to pay $29,683 in restitution.
