Bozeman Police Department hosts Citizens Police Academy

BOZEMAN – The Bozeman Police Department is currently hosting its annual eight week Citizens Police Academy.

It’s a quick glimpse at an officer’s day-to-day work.

Each week has a different theme and participants range in age from 17 up to 80.

The police department believes it’s important for the community to understand what they do.

“The police department is a partner with the community, and we feel that the community is a partner with us. Any time that we can include them in our life, our job and what we deal with, we welcome that,” said Bozeman Police Community Resource Officer Marek Ziegler. “Not only do we welcome that, but we also answer any questions that maybe the community members have about what the police department does, and that’s why its a part of the Citizens Police Academy.”

This year’s class is full, but if you’re interested in taking part in the Citizens Police Academy next year you can contact Officer Ziegler at mziegler@bozeman.net.
