HELENA – Central Elementary School made history Thursday afternoon for some Central alumni.
They were given a chance to sign a significant spot on the concrete floor of the gym. The students did it just before carpenters and construction workers finished placing the new hardwood flooring.
The new hardwood floors are being refurbished for the upcoming school that’s being built this year.
Alumni varied in age, as most were current middle and high school students of the Helena community.
Helena High Junior, Keaten Wallace, shared his thoughts on the new gymnasium as a former student stating, “It’s pretty cool, the atmosphere is nice, everyone…it’s nice to see all the old faces. People that you haven’t seen in forever.”
Later this year, students will be returning to the familiar downtown neighborhood as a new generation of students will be ushered into the new Central Elementary building.
