There are several wildfires burning in the northern part of Alberta, Canada and an evacuation order has been issued, according to Alberta Wildfire.

At 1:21 p.m. on May 20, Mackenzie County in northern Alberta issued a mandatory evacuation order for residents south and southeast of the town of High Level and south of the Bushe River Reserve due to wildfire threat, according to Alberta Emergency Alert.

The Chuckegg Creek Wildfire in the High Level Forest Area is classified as “out-of-control” and was about 69,000 hectares, or about 170,500 acres, in size as of May 19.

The wildfire danger for the High Level Forest Area has climbed to extreme, according to Alberta Wildfire.

Alberta Wildfire is reporting six “out-of-control” wildfires in the province including one in the Edson Forest Area west of Edmonton.

The Calgary Forest Area currently has zero wildfires and wildfire danger in that region is low.
