Man suffers burns in mobile home fire north of Helena

(HELENA) One man suffered burns after a fire in a mobile home park north of Helena overnight.

It happened around midnight Sunday at a home in the 3500 block of Placer Drive.

West Valley Volunteer Fire Chief Jerry Shepherd said the fire started in the kitchen, but the cause is not clear. The building was a total loss.

Shepherd said the resident suffered serious burns on his hands and feet. One dog was also killed in the fire.

The West Valley and Lewis and Clark County Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the fire, with aid from the Helena Fire Department.
