Authorities identify man killed in Helena rollover crash

UPDATE: Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office identified the man killed in the crash as Dewayne Lyons of Helena.

A 54-year-old Helena man has died after a rollover crash near Devil’s Elbow by Hauser Lake.

It happened around 9:45 Tuesday night.

According to Captain Alan Hughes with the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the driver was the only person inside the vehicle during the crash. Hughes said he wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected.

Multiple agencies, including the Sheriff’s Office, Montana Highway Patrol, Tri-Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, and St. Peter’s responded.

Two different passerby’s called the crash in. Hughes said one of them attempted CPR.

An investigation is now underway. Law enforcement has not named the crash victim.
