KALISPELL – Glacier Park International Airport terminal expansion plans are moving forward, which will allow the airport to continue welcoming record-breaking numbers of passengers to the region.
The Flathead Municipal Airport Authority recently approved the terminal expansion concept at its July 9 board meeting. This decision effectively begins the largest building expansion in the airport’s history.
Additional new features include larger circulation areas, additional jet bridges and hold rooms, the return of the greeter lobby, and expanded options for dining throughout the terminal.
Construction for upcoming improvements is tentatively slated to begin in September of 2020.
GPIA has not seen significant terminal renovations since 1999 and since that time, passenger volumes have more than doubled.
