HELENA – Montana 2-1-1 has been updated for resources in the greater Helena Area.
The free and anonymous resource line is available 24/7 to connected people with a trained operator who can provide information on community resources and available assistance.
The United Way of the Lewis and Clark Area (UWLCA) recently completed updates to more than 300 listings of local programs and services on Montana 2-1-1.
“Montana 2-1-1 is a really important service for a lot of people in our area,” said Dana Friede, UWLCA director of Development and Marketing. “It’s a phenomenal resource for people who think that they might need assistance with something or people who are really in dire straits and need something.”
Montana 2-1-1 has information covering a wide array of assistance programs; including peer to peer groups, financial assistance, food security and suicide prevention.
The United Way of the Lewis & Clark Area say this program is a great resource for anyone to help overcome a difficulty.
“It’s a really great opportunity for folks who might be facing some really difficult circumstances to actually go do some research, find some resources and help get themselves into a better position,” said Friede.
Friede added UWLCA is thrilled this service is now available to everyone in the Helena area.
“We get phone calls every day from people needing help identifying a resource or trying to overcome something,” explained Friede. “It’s great just to know that when we go home at night people still have some place to go to find information that they need and feel empowered by it.”
