Once a month at the Gentle Healing Center in Helena, cats and humans alike can stretch and flex for some “Cats On Mats” yoga.

Robyn Lund, the owner, has been hosting this ‘purrfect’ weekend event for three years. She tells MTN News that it’s a great way to get people to practice yoga and work on their physical and mental well-being, along with maybe making a new friend to take home and adopt.

One of the cool “Cats On Mats” yoga-goers, Michelle Harbosen, is a Lewis & Clark County Humane Society volunteer herself and has been eight years strong.

“They just have freedom to move around, and it's calming--it's a nice environment for them and an opportunity for people to see them outside of the shelter,” said Harbosen.

The class is once a month and there is a recommended $12 donation to take the hour-long yoga class, 100% of the proceeds are sent directly back to the Humane Society.

The Gentle Healing Center is at 513 Saddle Drive; click here to visit the website .
