HELENA — According to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map, Montana added two additional cases of COVID-19 on Monday, May 18, 2020.
The cases are in Ravalli and Yellowstone Counties. The Ravalli County patient is a man in his 50’s. The Yellowstone County patient is a man in his 70’s.
Friday’s data raises the total number of cases in the state to 469. The state is reporting 470 cases because a case is attributed to Jefferson Co.
Jefferson Co. health officials reported that the case involved a man in his 50’s who has not been in the state for several weeks. They added that the case was not acquired in Montana and the man has not been in contact with anyone in Montana.
Since Sunday, the state reported 1,282 new tests completed. That raised the total number of tests counted by the state to 28,176. According to data on the map, 434 people are considered recovered, that represents 92.5 percent of Montana cases. There are three active hospitalizations as of Monday.
There have been 16 deaths in Montana to date. There have been six deaths in Toole County, two in Cascade County, two in Flathead County, two in Yellowstone County, and one each in Gallatin County, Lincoln County, Madison County, and Missoula County.
