HELENA — According to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map, Montana added one additional case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
The patient is a woman in her 80’s from Yellowstone County.
Tuesday's data raises the total number of cases in the state to 470 with 17 active cases. The state is reporting 471 cases because a case is attributed to Jefferson Co.
Jefferson Co. health officials reported that the case involved a man in his 50’s who has not been in the state for several weeks. They added that the case was not acquired in Montana and the man has not been in contact with anyone in Montana.
Toole County also reported on Monday that is was down to just one active case, however, the state map is still reporting two active cases in that county.
Since Monday, the state reported 783 new tests completed. That raised the total number of tests counted by the state to 28,950. According to data on the map, 437 people are considered recovered, that represents 92.9 percent of Montana cases. There are five active hospitalizations as of Tuesday morning.
There have been 16 deaths in Montana to date. There have been six deaths in Toole County, two in Cascade County, two in Flathead County, two in Yellowstone County, and one each in Gallatin County, Lincoln County, Madison County, and Missoula County.
