HELENA — According to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map, Montana added seven additional cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
All seven patients are in Ravalli County. According health officials, all the cases were found in men. Ravalli Co. health leaders said Monday that this is being classified as a cluster outbreak and that the cases were all related.
Tuesday’s data raises the total number of cases in the state to 477 with 22 active cases. The state is reporting 478 cases because a case is attributed to Jefferson Co.
Jefferson Co. reported that the case involved a man in his 50’s who has not been in the state for several weeks. They added that the case was not acquired in Montana and the man has not been in contact with anyone in Montana.
Since Tuesday, the state reported 776 new tests completed. That raised the total number of tests counted by the state to 29,726. According to data on the map, 440 people are considered recovered, that represents 92 percent of Montana cases. There are three active hospitalizations as of Wednesday morning.
There have been 16 deaths in Montana to date. There have been six deaths in Toole County, two in Cascade County, two in Flathead County, two in Yellowstone County, and one each in Gallatin County, Lincoln County, Madison County, and Missoula County.
