State reports 25 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours

HELENA — According to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map, Montana saw 25 additional cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

Ten counties reported news cases in what was the largest single day jump in cases since March 28.

Thursday’s data raises the total number of cases in the state to 654 with 90 active cases. The state is reporting 655 cases because a case from May is attributed to Jefferson Co.

Jefferson Co. reported that the case involved a man in his 50’s who has not been in the state for several weeks. They added that the case was not acquired in Montana and the man has not been in contact with anyone in Montana.

Since Wednesday, the state reported 1,355 new tests completed. That raised the total number of tests counted in the state to 66,870. According to data on the map, 544 people are considered recovered. Eight people are currently hospitalized by the virus

To date, 20 people have died in Montana as a result of the virus.
