GREAT FALLS — During the week of November 17th, 2020, an elderly community member became the victim of a felony burglary when their storage unit on the west side of Great Falls was broken into.

The Great Falls Police Department said in a news release on Friday that the suspect(s) stole numerous family heirlooms, including irreplaceable family documents, one-ounce gold bars, gold Escudos from a shipwreck, a bag of older silver coins, silver one-ounce round coins, silver bars, and many other items of personal and sentimental significance.

The total loss of the items is valued at more than $50,000.

The GFPD says officers have investigated diligently to no avail, and are looking to the community for help.

If you have any information that may assist investigators in identifying the suspect(s) and/or locating the stolen property, you are asked to call 406-727-8493, send a private message to the GFPD Facebook page, or send a tip via Great Falls/Cascade County Crimestoppers at P3TIPS.COM or 406-727-8477.

The GFPD noted: "The tiniest tip could break the case wide open."

Tipsters may remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
