A Madison County man admitted to killing his girlfriend and burying her body with a backhoe on a ranch back in 2018.
According to court documents and court staff, Stanley Gordon Bernardini of Ennis pleaded guilty before his murder trial could begin on Tuesday -- admitting he committed both crimes, the deliberate homicide of Michelle Sorrows and tampering with evidence.
Sentencing has yet to be scheduled, but Bernardini faces up to 100 years in prison.
