HELENA – A 30 year-old Helena man is accused of injuring a police officer, as the officer attempted to put him into a holding cell.

Court documents say Jacob Mathew Frye was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor partner-family member assault, when Frye allegedly pushed a woman to the ground as she tried to separate him from an altercation.

Police say he was intoxicated and acting belligerent, and had a prior conviction for partner-family member assault.

When police were trying to move him to a holding cell at the detention center, Frye allegedly resisted officers, injuring one in the shoulder while trying to hit him.

The judge set bond at $25,000.
