HELENA – A Lewis and Clark County judge set bond at $100,000 for a man accused of kidnapping and rape.

Police arrested 29 year-old Jorel Quiroz Saturday, after a woman texted 911 and said she was being held against her will.

The woman told police that Quiroz had demanded the woman drive him around on Friday, and when they arrived back to his residence, he assaulted her, threatened to kill her, and tied her hands.

She also told police that he had held a knife to her, and at once point, strangled her with a phone cord. Prosecutors say in court documents the woman feared for her life.

Following his arrest, police reported finding suspected methamphetamine, and that Quiroz was tazed when he assaulted two detention officers in the jail.

He has been charged with multiple felonies, including sexual intercourse without consent, kidnapping, strangulation, assault with a weapon, and two counts of assault on a peace officer.
