BELT – Fire crews responded to a field fire between Belt and Sand Coulee on Tuesday around 2:20 p.m.
Belt Rural Volunteer Fire Chief Travis Johnson said the fire, located near mile marker 82 along Highway 89, burned under 20 acres.
The cause is undetermined although the fire might have started from either a combine or rock strike.
Belt, Sand Coulee, and Black Eagle agencies responded. The scene was cleared around 4:15 p.m.
“It was a great team effort between neighbors,” Johnson said. “A lot of people showed up with water trucks. It made our job easy.”
