GREAT FALLS — Great Falls specialty shop Pizazz has been cooking up success in the midst of a pandemic - 2020 has been a record year for the store.

“This is the best year we’ve had in Pizazz history,” explained owner Veronica Ronnau.

The kitchen store has been a downtown staple for 35 years. Ronnau bought Pizazz in 2001. She moved the store from the Liberty Building to its current space at 403 Central Avenue 14 years ago.

“I turned my passion and my hobby into my profession,” recalled Ronnau. She never dreamed the store would turn into what it has today. She credits Pizazz’s success to customer service and listening to what the people who walk through her doors want.

“I think people are making an effort to shop local. I think people miss the human experience and that’s certainly what you get here. We give great customer service. I couldn’t be happier with that way things have worked out in a pandemic year, it’s been amazing,” said Ronnau.

Pizazz has expanded from selling kitchen supplies to offering cooking classes and opening their adjacent Pizazz Corner Market more than a year ago.

“That’s our silver lining from Covid is that people don’t want to cook seven days a week for themselves, so they let us do some of that for them and they’ve been very supportive,” Ronnau said.

Pizazz hosts two to four cooking classes per month. They happen in a small group setting when the store is closed. Each month the chef selects a food; January will be all about Italian food. For more information, click here to visit the website.
