The public is invited to a meeting Thursday night that focuses on improvements at Montana ExpoPark in Great Falls.
They'll see concept designs for proposed facility updates and can get a tour before the presentation to see areas in need of repairs.
Organizers include the Board of Cascade County Commissioners, Great Falls Montana Tourism, Montana ExpoPark Advisory Board, and the Great Falls Area Lodging Association
County Commissioners said improvements are key to the future of the Montana state fair in Great Falls and the vitality of surrounding communities.
“Montana ExpoPark, the home of Montana State Fair for nearly ninety years, is a vital part of Great Falls and the surrounding communities, Cascade County, and the state of Montana,” County Commission Chairman Jim Larson said in a release. “The facilities are in need of renovations and updates to keep pace with the diverse event requests for facility use throughout the year, and to keep Montana ExpoPark an important part of our community for the next 90 years.”
Changes include upgrades to livestock areas, relocating the currently livestock building along with a new multi-use arena that can seat up to 10,000 people.
Ninety-minute tours will begin at Exhibition Hall at 5:30 p.m.; the public meeting begins at 7:00.
People planning on taking the pre-meeting tour are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear, dress for the weather, and arrive on time.
