Ribbon-cutting for cattery at Great Falls Animal Shelter

The Great Falls Animal Shelter is one step closer to giving its feline residents a better life, as the ribbon was cut this week for the new cattery.

It’s a bigger, brighter room for the cats.

While the room is ready to be used, the shelter is still raising money for the 'cat condos' the cats will be living in.

The condos will allow visitors to see the cats from outside the room and allow shelter staff to easily care for the cats.

"Over the years, ASPCA standards have changed, Humane Society standards have changed. There's proof out there that if you increase the size of their living facility, they actually don't stay in shelter environments as long,” said Shelter Operations Director Lynn Formell.

Once the shelter buys the condos, they should take about three months to arrive. Click here to visit the shelter website.
