HELENA — The Helena Dragon Boat Club will begin its first annual Big Sky Paddle Challenge September 1st, 2020.
The challenge involves several categories such as the “Fastest to 500 meters” and the “Longest Continuous Paddle.”
Anyone is welcome to join in on the challenge. You choose your paddle-powered vessel, body of water, and the distance.
The club created this event after the annual Montana Dragon Boat Festival in Bigfork was canceled.
“We really wanted to bring something back to our community as we weren't able to meet in person and practice all summer,” explained ays Natascha Robinson, president of the Helena Dragon Boat Club. “We have really planned on doing a lot of community events that just were not able to happen this year. So, the Big Sky Paddle Challenge came out of our desire to be on the water."
All results must be submitted to the club by September 30th, 2020.
