HELENA — Bus routes and parking enforcement will resume in Helena beginning following the state entering Phase Two of reopening on Monday, June 1st.

The City of Helena says people should expect full parking enforcement in the downtown area, and reminds the public there is first hour free parking available in many areas.

The City has downtown mapped out for parking on their website.

Capital Transit’s Red and Blue fixed-route and Paratransit buses will operate Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

There will be a two hour shutdown each day from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for thorough cleaning, and people are asked to wear a mask when they ride

“We’ve reduced the capacity to try to adhere to social distancing, but we don’t see there being a big impact to the ridership,” said David Knoepke, Transportation Systems director.
The City isn’t able to resume the East Helena/East Valley bus route at this time due.

Knoepke says a few Capital Transit staff members are unable to return to work at this time due to COVID-19 and their own safety.
