HELENA — The City of Helena Parks and Recreation Dept. is seeking input from the public about future use of the City-owned Kindrick Legion baseball field.

The stadium, built in 1932, holds 2,100 people and was the former home of the Helena Brewers Minor League baseball team.

With the departure of the Brewers in 2018, the Helena City Commission agreed to a two-year contract with American Legion baseball to take over operations.

American Legion has used Kindrick as the home field for three Legion teams: the Senators, Reps, and Independents. Two other leagues, the Expedition League (a college league) and the Pecos League (a minor league team), have expressed interest in using the field.

With the Legion contract set to expire in Dec., the City looks to the public to help inform a vision for future use of the facility. The City will accept public comment via online survey starting today through Monday, Dec. 7. Take the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZXCHFBT.

If you have questions, please contact the City of Helena Parks and Recreation Department at 406-447-8463 or parksandrec@helenamt.gov.
