HELENA — -- 4:30 pm: Update --

A historic Helena building built in 1889 is now up for sale.

If you ever imagined yourself as an owner of Helena History, now is your chance of making that a reality as the Power Block Building is now up for sale.

According to the current owner, the Maronick family, says it was a tough decision to sell the historic building.

"This has been such a special building to us for so many years,” says Elaine Maronick, owner of the Power Block building. “It was a tough decision to make for us, actually. I am excited though, it's time to move on and I would love to see it go to someone who really loves."

Another individual who shares the same passion for Power Block is Kathy Brown. She has been the commercial property manager of the building for the last 20 years. She is also the Realtor in charge of selling it.

"As I moved on to start my real estate career, I stayed with the building or the building stayed with me,” says Brown. “So, I have a great affection for it and it is a huge honor to be able to find a new owner for this."

The new owner will have a historic building made in the late 1800s by Thomas Power, and has been renovated throughout the years to include features like the atrium to bring sunlight inside the building. According to Brown, the building has about 50 office spaces with about 10% of those spaces available for new occupancy.

Power Block has a listing price of $2.5 million. It's been on the market for about a week and has already received interest from out-of-state and local investors.
