HELENA — Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's Reserve partnered with The Home Depot Foundation in this year’s “Heroes and Helpers” by donating gift cards for local families in need.

The volunteers provided pre-assembled buckets to families instead of hosting annual in-person workshops due to the pandemic. Each bucket included hand sanitizer, masks, workshop kits, and even a gift card to families.

The groups provided about 75 buckets to families. All this is part of The Home Depot Foundation’s Operation Surprise 2020, a campaign celebrating and giving to the frontline workers of the pandemic.

“Operation Surprise is kind of our answer, like, COVID can’t stop us,” laughs Kristy Brown, the Helena Home Depot Community Captain. “It is just a way where we can give back to our community without actually, physically, going in the home to maintain current safety protocols.”

The next Operation Surprise is expected to take place this coming Monday, December 21st, 2020.
