A Bozeman brewery took home the gold at the Great American Beer Fest in Denver earlier this month.

Bridger Brewing’s Bobcat Brown won the best English-Style Brown Ale at the national competition, where 2800 breweries from across the country showcased their best beers.

The Bobcat Brown was one of the first beers Bridger Brewing started serving at their brewery that opened 6 years ago.

A tribute to Montana State University, the Bobcat Brown continues to be one of the most popular beers on tap.

“To be recognized nationally… it just means a lot,” said David Breck, owner of Bridger Brewing.

“You have to have good quality ingredients which we get our grain locally here from Montana, but then the consistency that the guys put into the work and the effort they put into really makes the difference.“

A handful of other breweries from Montana also took home awards from the event including MAP Brewery in Bozeman, UberBrew in Billings, and Meadowlark Brewing in Sydney.
