HELENA — The City of Helena will be conducting prescribed burns on Mount Helena beginning Tuesday Feb. 11.
Helena Parks and Recreation said the conditions are right to conduct prescribed burns. People should expect burning on Mount Helena throughout the week, as long as the conditions hold.
Burning operations will be located on the north side of the 1906 Trail, near the junction with the Prairie Trail.
Montana DEQ has approved the Mount Helena prescribed burn, and the City of Helena Fire & Police Departments, Helena-Lewis & Clark National Forest Fire, and the Lewis & Clark Health Department have all been notified of the planned burning operations on Mount Helena.
The 911 Dispatch Center said there is no need to call emergency services to report the burning.
