Pureview Health Center transformed their parking lot into a drive through system for COVID-19 tests. It is part of a new initiative set by Governor Bullock. It is free and paid for by the State of Montana.
"The test is for people who do not have symptoms and do not have any known exposure to COVID-19. So, we are really trying to rule out that we have COVID-19 in the community that we don't know about," says Jill Steeley, Pureview Health CEO.
Upon arrival, you will need to sign a consent form and pass a pre-screening at Station One. Station Two is the actual test. Masks are not required throughout the process.
Vehicles may have multiple people. However, each person in the vehicle must sign their own consent form. Children are allowed to get tested as well. Space will be provided if you wish to drive out of the line to take more time taking the tests.
Speaking with one health professional giving the tests, she said that the swab will go a half inch up each nostril. Then, swirled for ten seconds, each nostril.
You do the test yourself with a professional watching you.
Pureview says you will receive results within 5-7 days by a phone call. In all, Pureview had enough to test 800 people on Saturday, June 6th.
The next testing is scheduled on June 13th, 2020 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Pureview Health Center.
