Plains, Montana high school students donated artwork to the Veterans Regional Hospital in Helena.
The students partnered with Joint Operation Mariposa to donate an artwork created by David Williams and Haylee Steinbach.
Williams is a Navy veteran. He created this horse with the help of Plains High School students to recognize veterans coming home from their service. According to a Mariposa representative, this horse is part of a larger artwork named "Guardians of the Herd," a 1,000-foot artwork. The donation piece pictured above is part of that artwork.
Haylee is Williams' art assistant and a sophomore at the high school who felt passionate about her work.
“You have to choose something that matters to you because if it doesn't matter to you, then it won’t come out in your art, that’s important,” says Haylee.
Joint Operation Mariposa is a Veterans Outreach Organization in Plains, Montana. Their goal is to provide veterans with basic services and benefits earned from their service.
