The Missoula Building Industry Association's Home Show offered kids a hands-on and friendly Lego competition on Saturday.

The MBIA's Home Show is primarily for adults seeking. everything from realtors to DIY home project solutions but this contest allowed a kid friendly space.

The children were separated into three age groups and each group would have one winner who won a Lego set to take home.

This kid-friendly event was in its second year and MBIA's Executive Director Jana Geier says this was the most successful year so far, she had to shut down registration early.

Geier says they started the competition to allow kids to get real life experience of being a home builder.

"If we can plant the seed with the kids that building is cool, working with your hands is cool, and taking up a job in the trades or engineering or architecture," said Geier.

The Home Show will be continuing its showcase Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn on North Reserve.
