Ice skaters from across Montana were treated Saturday to a seminar from an Olympic skater.

1992 Olympic silver medalist Paul Wylie taught ice skaters at the Glacier Ice Rink how to polish jumps and turns.

Wylie has been teaching in his very own clinic in Missoula for two years now and has hopes to help guide the young ice skaters just as he was.

Wylie also had piece of advice for ice skaters.

“I think the best piece of advice is to let the edges do their work and to stay balanced and not get discouraged. Because there is a lot of falling that goes on in skating it turns out. and you have to get back up and that maybe one of the best things you’ll learn out of it,” said Wylie.

Wylie is now the director of sports at the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority and loves to make his way back to Montana to ski.
